Our Church
Gospel Life Bible Church began as a church plant from Faith Bible Church (Laguna Niguel) in 2025. Its existence is a testimony to the fruitfulness of the gospel (Col 1:6) and the faithfulness of Jesus to build His Church (Matt 16:18).
There is a central vision that drives everything we do: That Christ be formed in the lives of His people (Gal 4:19; Col 1:28). We can only say this because Christ told us it’s what He’s working for (Col 1:29; Phil 1:6; 2:12–13). So we are not striving to help people change their lives. Rather, it’s more accurate to say we are striving to help them share His (Luke 9:24; 1 John 5:10–12). That is the heartbeat and prayer of our Lord who loves us (Matt 28:18–20; John 15:11; 17:20–26), and for that reason, it’s ours as well (Col 1:27–29).
We know the only way for this formation to possibly happen is through the truths of the gospel (Rom 1:16): that Christ Jesus died for our sins according to the Scriptures…and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Cor 15:3–4). “The Scriptures” of the Old Testament promised that the people of Christ would have life in His name because of their union with Him in His vicarious death and resurrection (Isa 52:13–53:12; Hos 6:2; Luke 24:7, 26–27). It is because of God’s grace in uniting us to Jesus, the Son of God, that we can believe this message and consider ourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Him (Rom 6:5, 11). In Christ we are forgiven and filled with His Spirit to walk in newness of life (Rom 6:4; 8:2). It is as Paul said in Galatians 2:20: “I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” This is the gospel that gives us life (2 Tim 1:1, 10). And so, from our corporate worship service to our weekly Bible studies, we want to depend on the Lord and labor to see Christ formed in the lives of His people—to see them grow in Gospel Life.
The common thread that keeps this vision clear is the word of God. Since we believe that the Bible is the very word of God (2 Tim 3:16), we believe what it says when it tells us we have been given everything necessary for life and godliness in its pages (2 Pet 1:2–3). Because it carries God’s full authority, our church is committed to giving it our full attention (1 Tim 4:13).
Our worship services are designed to help the Lord’s people treasure Him in Scripture, song, and sacrament.
Scripture is the fountainhead of life and godliness, for it gives us the true knowledge of the Son of God, who is our life (2 Pet 1:3; Col 3:4). And because Scripture conveys the glorious life of Jesus to us, we want to give dedicated attention to its being read and preached in our gatherings (1 Tim 4:13). Sermons are “expository” in that they are designed to expose the meaning of the Bible so we can be transformed into the image of Christ (2 Cor 3:18). Sermons are typically 45–50 minutes in length.
Singing is a gift from Christ in which we can express our gratitude to Him for His grace and encourage one another to do the same (Col 3:16). For that reason, the songs we sing are a mix of “psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs” (Col 3:16), and all of them are selected for the biblical truths they convey to our souls (John 4:24).
The sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper serve to showcase the Lord’s grace in salvation and proclaim His death until He comes (Rom 6:3–11; 1 Cor 11:26). They are biblical pictures and proclamations of the gospel, and for that reason, we want to celebrate them regularly in reverence for the truths they convey.
Overall, our worship services are approximately 90 minutes long (starting at 4:00 pm on Sundays) and they are open to the entire family (though we also provide childcare for children ages birth through 5 years old).
We would be privileged to meet you in person and to welcome you to the fellowship of Gospel Life!
